SA 177 / G17 questions

Hey guys, so I have this SA 177 (C02 powered, 380 fps, blowback) and recently playing with it, the blowback mechanism broke. The mechanism itself was a plastic flab shaped like an O-ring and c02 hits the plastic piece and pushes it back. So it broke (I have the pieces) do you guys still think my guy would be good? If not, can I unscrew the blowback part. In other words is it ok if a gun meant for blowback features still be ok if the blowback mechanism was removed? I just dont want to ruin the gun if removing the mechanism would do so. And would it be ok to continue shooting the gun as is with the broken blowback plastic flap(I took it out so it doesnt blowback anymore lol.) I'd highly appreciate your opinions and thoughts.
